A few months before the group graduated, Beckdorf felt like he was in danger and needed to get some space between him and Dahmer.

After graduation, the group split off to pursue their own life goals and college, only to learn years later that the weird boy they had gotten amusement from had gone on to murder 17 young men and boys.

Dahmer’s first victim was only a few weeks after they all graduated, giving an even darker twist to the last few months the fan club had been together.

The Photobombing Incident

Backtracking slightly before graduation, the photobombing incident refers to when Jeffrey Dahmer and his fan club snuck into as many club photos as possible.

While this may seem like nothing more than an innocent prank done by a group of friends, when looking at it from another angle, we realize the deeper meaning behind it.

Dahmer had always been the odd one out in the world, and photobombing the club photos was another way for him to try to make it seem like he had fitted in with others.

It is a sad realization, knowing that it was a combination of his poor home life, acute loneliness, and repressed sexuality that played a strong part in his becoming a serial killer.

Is There Still a Jeffrey Dahmer Fan Club?

While the Jeffrey Dahmer Fan Club once referred to the group of boys who enjoyed Dahmer’s antics, there is still an active Dahmer fan club within the true crime community.

Known as Dahmerites, the community exists around a shared fascination with criminal behavior and often involves exchanging information and memorabilia related to notorious killers.

They are often viewed with suspicion and disdain by other true crime fans, who see them as exploiting the suffering of Dahmer’s victims for personal gratification.

Despite the criticism, the Jeffrey Dahmer fan club continues to thrive. Members of this subculture can be found on forums and social media, where they discuss Dahmer’s crimes and share personal insights into his life and motivations.

While it is technically not illegal to idolize a brutal killer, it is still a sad representation of what has become of some of the true crime community.

We must always remember that while we can learn and study murderers and serial killers, they are not people worthy of praise.
